Selier Energy Ltd. has commenced its airborne geophysics program on the uranium projects in Niger
The Republic of Niger is in its first cycle of modern uranium exploration by innovative exploration companies. Niger is a French-speaking, landlocked, democratic country.
Uranium mining in Niger commenced in the 1960’s. It is currently the fourth largest producer of uranium in the world, and the third largest in reserves - producing approximately 10 % of the annual world supply of U3O8. The deposits are sandstone hosted and have an average grade of approximately 0.2 % to 0.3 %. (The average grade of uranium deposits world-wide is approximately 0.15 %.)
The Abelajouad uranium permit is in the Arlit region and is 5 kilometers west of the Imouraren Deposit (Cogema) which contains 200 million pounds of U3O8. The Abelajouad permit also covers prospective north-west and north-east trending structures, which are known to control the distribution of uranium deposits in the region.
